Spring 2008 Report

March / April:

The STRIPED BASS or ROCKFISH as we call them are back in the CHESAPEAKE BAY preparing to spawn. The ROCKFISH are biting practically everything that hits the water right now. 2008 is already proving to be a great year with massive schools of menhaden (baitfish) which will keep these STRIPERS here for as long as possible.

ROCKFISH are feeding heavily, preparing themselves for spawning. With different schools of STRIPERS entering the CHESAPEAKE BAY in different stages, the STRIPERS are widespread across the entire Middle CHESAPEAKE BAY providing CHESAPEAKE BAY CHARTER FISHING anglers with the best STRIPED BASS FISHING anywhere in the world. That’s no exaggeration. 85% of the Atlantic stock STRIPED BASS instinctively spawn in the CHESAPEAKE BAY. It’s like they don’t have a choice but be right here in our back yard for us to catch. AWESOME!

No Slot for 2008

The Slot limit that was in place in 2007 is gone! We are back to the normal 28 inch minimum during the TROPHY ROCKFISH season.  May 16th begins the summer ROCKFISH season and we remain constant with an 18 inch minimum as in the past.
